If you've ever wondered how to make your eyes that glowing, attractive spark that makes people think they're staring into your soul, then this is the most important message you'll read today.
Fortunately, there're many ways to have that big-eyed, beautiful appearance and we cover the top 8 ways.
Of course, many people believe the best way to improve your beauty is to pay a plastic surgeon a lot of money for various operations. If this is you, then this is probably not for you.
This article is devoted to helping your eyes look their best without surgery.
1. Push your brows back up
When gravity's pulled your eyebrows down, just use this quick Japanese shiatsu technique.
Place the fingertips of your first three fingers on both corners and in the middle of your eyebrows. One fingertip goes in each spot.
Push them up for 7 seconds. Continue doing that every day.
2. Avoid too much eye makeup.
Many people who want beautiful eyes immediately think of what kinds of makeup and how to apply it to the eyes to make them look most attractive.
However, some opthamalogists point out that using too much eye makeup can make them dull and lusterless.
Also: avoid dust and pollution.
Eat foods rich in Vitamins A and C. Vitamin C is in all fruits and vegetables. Your body makes Vitamin A from the beta carotene found in many orange/yellow plant foods such as mangoes, peaches and sweet potatoes.
3. Keep your eyes full of energy.
This includes getting a full night's sleep (7-9 hours) every night - and not straining your eyes too much by staring at computer and phone screens.
Not getting enough sleep can make your eyes dark, puffy and red. It can actually cause eye spasms.
4. Eye drops can help whiten red eyes.
Despite everything, sometimes you won't get as much sleep as you need. Or you have to keep on working.
Also, alcohol and smoke can make your eyes red, so avoid drinking and smoking.
But if you have to, you can use eye drops - but don't think you can depend on them. Most of the time, get the sleep and clean air you need.
5. Apply the right foods directly to the skin underneath your eyes.
If the skin below your eyes is puffy, apply slices of cold cucumber or apple.
If you have dark circles around your eyes, apply raw potato.
6. Practice shiatsu for crow's feet.
Place the tip of each of your index fingers on the outer corner of your eye.
Press down firmly, then push the underlying muscle (not just the skin) toward your temples.
Perform this gently, but do make sure you're pulling up your underlying muscles.
Do this for three seconds.
Repeat twice - for a total of three repetitions.
Do every day.
7. Use cold spoons to reduce undereye puffiness.
This is definitely a quick fix, not a permanent improvement in your eye health or appearance, but it's good to know when you need it.
Place two metal spoons in a glass with ice or in a freezer for a few minutes.
When the spoons are good and cold, hold the rounded side of each spoon to the underside of one eye. An ordinary tablespoon is just the right size.
Hold them in place for 30 to 60 seconds, or until the spoons turn warm. Repeat as often as you like.
The cold acts much the same as applying ice to an injury, but more gently.
That is, it lowers inflammation, reduces the swelling that makes them puffy and shrinks the underlying capillaries.
8. Firm up your undereye bags.
a. Place three fingertips along the cheek bone below your eye. They should NOT be right under the eye, but over the bone, at least one finger's width below your lower lashes.
b. Gently, use those fingertips to pull your undereye skin down slightly - SLIGHTLY.
c. Roll your eyeballs up, so you're looking toward the ceiling.
d. Gently blink five times.
You won't be able to blink your eyes completely closed, and that's okay. You need to blink just enough to stress the muscles a little, to strengthen and firm them over time.
e. While continuing to blink, roll your eyes diagonally to the right, then to the left.
f. Perform ten to fifteen times in each direction, at first.
Gradually increase the repetitions as your eye muscles grow stronger.
Undereye bags can be caused by fat that gravity gradually pulls down over time or by excess fluid.
If they're fat due to aging, try eating a low-fat diet, and generally losing weight in a healthy ways. When you're losing weight, you can't control what stored fat your body chooses to burn, but it will gradually get rid of all excess fat, including under your eyes.
If your bags are due to water retention, that's generally caused by consuming excess sodium - which almost all of us do.
Therefore, it's suggested you lower your intake of salt and other sodium sources (such as MSG under all its many names), including processed foods, where sodium is universally used as a preservative.
Sodium needs to be balanced with potassium, so eat more foods rich in potassium, which are all fruits and vegetables.
Bananas are most famous for potassium, but all plant foods contain it. Eat what you most enjoy.
Before long, you too will have the kind of eyes people notice even on the other side of the room.
